"When they pulled into the Fair Grounds, they could hear music and see the Ferris wheel turning in the sky. They could smell the dust of the race track where the sprinkling cart had moistened it; and they could smell hamburgers frying and see balloons aloft. They could hear sheep blatting in their pens. An enormous voice over the loudspeaker said: "Attention, please! Will the owner of a Pontiac car, license number H-2439, please move your car away from the fireworks shed!"....
You guessed it, friends! Today was Fair Day for the Koehns! I look forward to the fair every year! I.Love.It!! I love the rides, the food, the crowds, the people watching, the animals, and the FUN! Oh, so much fun! And it's pretty much the only time that I can listen to country music on end, including "John Deere Green" on repeat.
We had told Chan that if he had a great week at school (no strips pulled at all) then we would go to the fair on opening weekend. Lucky for us, he upheld his end of the bargain! I would have been totally bummed if we would've missed out this weekend because the weather was gorgeous. So, of course he was up at 5:35 this morning staring me in the face asking "Momma, is it Fair Day?" He was so super excited!!

And this was Liam's first time at the best fair in the state! Last year we left him with my Mom & Dad since he was still so little. He held out for nearly five hours today! He enjoyed strolling around with Daddy while big brother and Mommy rode rides, and he loved the animals! Here are some more pics from our fabulous day at the Wilson County Fair.

We all had a blast today. In fact, if Justin is up to it, I'm thinking we might need to go back next weekend!
"Did you have a good time at the fair?" she asked as she kissed her daughter.
Fern nodded. "I had the best time I have ever had anywhere or any time in all of my whole life."
"Well!" said Mrs. Arable. "Isn't that nice!"
