I am LOVING this perfect fall weather lately! We kicked off our perfect autumn weekend Friday with an outdoor movie night at Chan's school. The weather couldn't have been better. We had a blast watching "How to Train Your Dragon" under the stars. Gorgeous night!
Saturday we decided to take a trip over to Breeden's Apple Orchard to do some apple pickin'. Chan has been learning about apples and Johnny Appleseed this week. I loved listening to him tell me about what he learned! Not only is this my favorite time of year, but it was also my favorite time for teaching and doing activities with my students. Since I am not in the classroom this year it is lots of fun to be hearing about it from Chan. So, as a way to extend his learning from the classroom, we went on out for an afternoon of hands-on experience. Had lots of fun, picked some great apples to make homemade applesauce with, and got some tasty treats from the country store. Perfect way to kick off the first official day of fall!
Let's go pick some apples! |
Liam's first trip to the orchard...he mostly slept through it |
Couldn't resist not chomping on one before we got back to the store... |
Still sleeping |
My boys after pickin'...Liam finally woke up and just wanted to throw apples. |
"There is no season in all the year so beautiful, so radiant with glory, as the early autumn. There is no time when the human soul drinks in so fully the glory and beauty of nature."
~Excerpt from The Northern Advocate~
Till next week friends!
Brittany :)
P.S.- No fall weekend would be complete without a little football watchin' of course! Can I get a Woot! Woot! for both of our Tennessee teams winning this weekend?!
