Chandler's Lego Party

What a weekend!  This Momma is all partied out!  Yesterday we had two birthday parties (yes, two) for  Chandler.  We started out with this friend party yesterday afternoon, and then had family over afterward for dinner and birthday cake.  We had a great time celebrating the big 5 year old, but I am exhausted!  Thought I would share some of the pictures from his Lego themed friend party.

This was his invitation we sent out to his friends

Back of the invitation.  Got them FOR FREE on winkflash.com.  I love a great deal :)  I do not love blurry pictures :(

Guess how many!
I had the party guests estimate how many Legos were in the cup and the winner got a Lego builder box.  Our winner guessed 100; the actual count was 105.

Lego bricks for prizes

I had a few other games at the party including Pin the Hat on Lego Man & a Lego Bingo game.  I bought animal cracker boxes and wrapped them up like Lego bricks for the prizes for these.  Thought they turned out pretty cute.

Chandler & his non-biological Auntie Kristin worked on the table decor the morning of the party

Party favor bags
I saw this idea on Pinterest and it was super easy!  I was planning to use the brighter colored, handled bags like I used with Liam's Sesame Street party, but remembered that Target carries red and blue lunch sacks.  So, instead of spending $3.99 for 5, I spent $1.49 for 40 of each color.  Can't beat that!  And they turned out adorable!  I used my scrapbooking circle cutter, so it was very simple to cut.  BIG THANKS to Auntie Kristin for helping put all the favor bags together!!!!

The party favors: goldfish, bubbles, mints, jolly ranchers, and fruit snack smiles

The thank you note inside bags.  I printed them on Avery shipping labels & mounted on colored cardstock.  Super simple.

Chandler's coloring sheet

I had these coloring sheets on the dining table with crayons so the kiddos could color as they arrived.  Found this Lego man on www.twistynoodle.com and you could change the title of the page.  Chan loved it.  I also had rectangle sugar cookies on the kitchen table with red/blue icing and M&M's so they could decorate cookies like Lego bricks.  I forgot to get a picture of them though :(

Pin the Hat on Lego Man

My fabulous BFF drew and colored this the night before the party.  I cut out little hard hats from construction paper for the kids to use during the game.

Close-up of the cupcakes

The food/drink table.

I opted for just cupcakes and ice cream this go round.  Serving food is always so expenive and so much ends up going to waste.  So, I ordered cupcakes from Publix, Auntie made the toppers for me, and we had ice cream cups and juiceboxes to go with them.

The juiceboxes were wrapped like Lego bricks

With Lego man heads to go on the straws

Gift table; I didn't have time to turn the Lego men into an actual banner, so they just got taped on the table cover

The Birthday Boy ready to tackle his gifts

I love his face in this one

And in this one, too

Yelling "THANK YOU" to all of his friends.  My kid is loud.

"If we didn't have birthdays, you wouldn't be you.
If you'd never been born, well then what would you do?
If you'd never been born, well then what would you be?
You might be a fish!  Or a toad in a tree!
You might be a doorknob!  Or three baked potatoes!
You might be a bag full of hard green tomatoes!
Or, worse than all that...you might be a WASN'T!
A Wasn't has no fun at all.  No, he doesn't.
A Wasn't just isn't.  He just isn't present.
But you...You ARE YOU!  And, now isn't that pleasant!.....
Today you are You, that is truer than true.
There is no one alive who is Youer than You."
~Dr. Seuss~
From Happy Birthday to You!

Till next week friends!
Brittany :)
