The Adventures of Shelf the Elf, Part I

So, as I posted a couple of weeks ago, our Elf on the Shelf arrived the day after Thanksgiving.  Chandler has loved looking for him each morning to see what the little stinker has been up to.  He enjoyed him last year, but much more so this year for some reason.  This Momma kinda loves it, too because it is WAY easier getting him out of bed in the morning when he has an Elf to look for.

I thought I would share the first several days of his adventures with you.  Pretty sure all of these ideas are ones that I stole from Pinterest.

Day 1: He arrived the day after Thanksgiving.  Left his book and letters for the boys on the kitchen table.

Chandler was so stinking excited!!  He decorated the whole house, too!

Day 2: Chan found him pretty easily this morning

Making a snow angel in the snow (powdered sugar)

Day 3: Since the mess was already started, he decided to build a snowman, too.

Jumbo marshmallows, chocolate chips, pretzels, and a sharpie did the trick
Day 4: Zip-lining!  Chan was pretty impressed with this one, but I couldn't get a great picture of it.

Day 5: An elf's favorite breakfast, syrup and candy canes

Day 6: We got TP'd by Shelf!

Day 7: Hiding among the Santas, but the smooth face was a dead giveaway

Day 8: Farmer Shelf taking over some of the Little People duties

Day 9: Since he arrived before December, he showed up with an advent calendar on December 1st.  Instead of candy each day, Shelf has a Christmas activity to do.  Lucky for me, he checked my calendar first :)
I made the file in Word using the Avery mailing label template, then just printed on plain paper.  Made a few extra in case our plans (or the weather in some cases) change.

Day 10: Found him playing Scrabble with a Christmas Moose, Snowman, and a Gingerbread Man.  Shelf had a special reminder for Chan this morning.
Such a festive game of Scrabble

Day 11: Fishing in the bathroom sink.  He even made his own fishing pole.  He's pretty handy.

Day 12: In the kitchen again making s'mores.

Day 13: Making copies of himself

Day 14: Every elf needs a good bubble bath to relax now and then

Day 15: We found him this morning by the front door with his elf-size Christmas Chuck Taylors on.  Obviously he fits right in with our family.

Can't wait to see what else our little Shelf has in store!   I am so loving watching Chandler's excitement each morning, and then again in the afternoon when he gets home and gets to show Daddy where Shelf is (and then do our Christmas activity).  This really is the most wonderful time of the year!!

"First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse cookie dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle."

Till next week friends!

P.S.- Does anyone know how to upload a document to Blogger?  It appears to me that only pictures and videos are allowed.  That's whack.
