Say it ain't so!! Just one more day off until we go back to work and school! Why is it that spring break always flies by so quickly. I guess the old saying is true...time flies when you're having fun!
We have been busy, busy these past two weeks. Lots of sleeping in. Lots of playing. Lots of F-U-N. The boys and I have really loved having these two weeks to play and relax, even if the weather didn't feel as spring-ish as we would have liked most days. Here is a peek at what we've been up to over spring break:
I spent our first Saturday off celebrating my super sweet niece Riley Grace for her 6th birthday! Tea party style of course. |
And then I headed straight to a baby shower for my super sweet friend Kristin & upcoming Baby Ava! |
The next day we had a family lunch at Nana's to celebrate Pa Robert's birthday |
Tuesday we went to The Discovery Center in Murfreesboro with Nana, Aunt Anna, the girls, and their Aunt Alex. We had lots of fun. Liam and Gracyn played store... |
Chan learned how to change a tire... |
We tried our hands at fire-fighting... |
Rode an exceptionally large tricycle... |
And experimented with tubes and air. |
Though it was cold and spitting snow at us on Wednesday, we went to Charlie Daniels Park in MJ with some friends for the St. Patty's Day Kids' Day Celebration. We played on the playground... |
Got some sweet St. Patrick's Day ink... |
Did some swingin'... |
Pretended to be a REAL Army man... |
And spent some time in a police cruiser...but just in the front. |
After a trip to Opry Mills for new shoes on Thursday, we did some spring cleaning. |
And we went to visit my Great Aunt Opal on Friday. Chan had made her a sweet Get Well Card that he was excited to deliver. We had about a half-hour visit before Liam ran into another guest's room and Chan set off the alarm, so... |
We went to the Old Hickory Village Park instead where we... |
Did some slidin'... |
Some more swingin'... |
Rode a purple triceratops... |
And enjoyed the warm weather (which didn't last long). |
We spent the weekend celebrating St. Patrick's Day,
then spent a rainy Monday having an all-day playdate with The Clement Clan... |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
While Zero took a long, overdue trip to the groomer. |
After another playdate with friends on Tuesday, we headed to The P'Funky Griddle for breakfast Wednesday. |
Daddy was off work for the rest of the week, so he tagged along. |
It was the Lamb's first visit. Needless to say, he loved it. |
Afterwards we headed to the zoo...our first trip of the year! We measured ourselves against elephant skulls, |
Saw some elephants... |
And some giraffes... |
Climbed in meerkat tunnels... |
And in some trees... |
And got seriously up close and personal with the flamingos (Mommy's fave). |
Thursday we headed to Granny & Pa's along with Nana, Aunt Anna, and the girls for our first Easter Egg Hunt of the season... |
the big kids searched for the eggs that were heavy (cause they know Granny puts quarters in them)... |
and the Baby Lamb got most of the candy filled eggs. |
After breakfast and hunting eggs we visited with Granny & Pa for a while... |
And Aunt Judy stopped by, too! |
Friday we all got trims... |
Some of us needed it more than others. |
And today we spent the morning yard-salin' with Nana. Chan was super happy with his purchases. |
And we spent the evening cooking hot dogs and s'mores over the fire pit. |
Something tells me he won't be this excited about waking up at 6:15 again Monday morning... |
Overall, I'd say this spring break has been a success. The only thing that would have made it better would have been less winter weather and more spring weather. We are ready, Spring. Bring it on.
"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade."

Till next week friends!
